Ran completed his BSc and MSc in Chemistry (magna cum Laude) at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and then started his PhD at the Weizmann Institute of Science studying surface interactions under electric potential regulation. In 2018, Ran took up a Blavatnik postdoctoral fellowship and joined the Department of Physics (Cavendish Laboratory) in the University of Cambridge. Subsequently, he secured a Marie-Curie individual fellowship that enabled him to further pursue his independent research in Cambridge. From August 2023, Ran is leading the Membrane Bioengineering and Transport group in the Department of Chemical Engineering, Ben-Gurion University of the Negev, Israel (full CV).
